When friends from other regions or countries ask me for tips for their Gold Coast holiday, I always tell them to pick accommodation that offer spacious rooms with impressive facilities. There is actually plenty of accommodation in Surfers Paradise which fit that description, but one of the highly recommended is the Artique Resort. Aside from its proximity to a patrolled beach (it’s only two minutes away), it also has a heated outdoor pool, a gym, and its apartments all share a magnificent view of the ocean. These two apartments are my personal picks.
1403 Artique Resort ($130 a night)
Situated at the 14th floor, this two-bedroom apartment faces the southern portion of the city centre. It also has a view of the ocean and the hinterland to its north. The two bedrooms have queen beds, and the living area has a sofa bed. If you’re travelling with a large group, a maximum of five guests can be accommodated by the apartment. The kitchen and the laundry area are fully equipped, and the air conditioned apartment also comes with a TV and a DVD player. There is one secured parking slot reserved for this accommodation in Surfers Paradise.
2704 Artique Resort ($160 a night)
This two-bedroom 27th floor apartment is a great choice for accommodation in Surfers Paradise. It has a large balcony opening from its lounge/dining area and it’s just as well because it faces the North Easterly aspect of the sea—a favoured direction because it also offers a magnificent view of the Nerang Hinterland and the skyline. It has two luxurious rooms and, with its king- and queen- sized beds and a sofa bed, could accommodate a maximum of six persons. The kitchen and laundry areas are fully equipped, and the apartment is air conditioned, with security and smoke alarms, and comes with two parking slots for its guests.
