Queensland holidays
Queensland holiday on the Gold Coast

Queensland remains to be one of the best holiday destinations for both domestic and international tourists. This is because travellers understand that Queensland holidays are synonymous to ultimate relaxation, almost perfect weather, spectacular list of things to see and do, and of course, exploring some of Australia’s most pristine beaches.

Last year, the number of Queensland tourists, who came mostly from China, has reached record high. According to official figures released by Tourism and Events Queensland, the region received 3,086,000 international visitors in the year ending December 2013. It also welcomed 17,572,000 domestic visitors for the same period. International spending along has reached $28.9 billion, which represent a 6% increase in 2012. These numbers have helped Queensland in creating thousands of jobs as more and more investors poured in money to the region with focus on mixed-use facilities.

The Courier Mail reported that last year, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Cairns have reported major reductions in unemployment. The same can be said for Maroochy, which reported 12% in unemployment rate while Caloundra fell 6%. Cairns, on the other hand, enjoyed 16% drop in unemployment and this is credited largely to the booming tourism industry. Hundreds of jobs were created in the retail, petrol station, and constructions industries. Also, the trend is expected to continue into the next decade as more and more tourists are expected to continuously choose Queensland as their holiday destination.

If you haven’t been to Queensland and if you ever wonder why millions of domestic and international visitors choose to spend their holidays here, I can tell you that it’s just simply the perfect place for relaxation as it can offer you everything that you’re going to need to recharge. Pristine beaches, wide range of accommodation options, world-class dining and shopping districts, and stunning natural and historical attractions make Queensland holidays extremely hard to forget.
